Dr. Shamma obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, followed by his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of Kansas. He then completed a one-year residency in General Surgery, followed by a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at Prince George’s Hospital Center.
Dr. Shamma started working in the Emergency Department while a resident and continued a full-time career in Emergency Medicine for over 22 years. For the past 7 years, he has worked full-time at multiple Urgent care centers across Maryland and Virginia.
